The Road to Hana is the most famous drive on Maui, and the easiest way to enjoy it is to let someone else do the driving. You ride in a comfortable air-conditioned mini coach with a professional driver guide who knows every turn, every waterfall, and every story along the way. Together you wind past 620 curves and 59 one-lane bridges through some of the most beautiful coastal and rainforest scenery the island has to offer.
This is a full experience rather than a quick out-and-back. Continental breakfast gets your morning started, a farm lunch at Hana Farms keeps you fueled for the afternoon, and admission to Wai‘anapanapa State Park is already handled for you. Along the route you will pause at the stops that make the drive worth the trip, from quiet taro fields to a striking black sand beach.
We have shared this journey with thousands of guests over the years, and we still love watching first-timers see the coastline open up for the first time. Sit back, relax, and let the day unfold the way it should.
Kaumahina State Park, a shaded coastal overlook, is normally part of the route but is temporarily closed. The return trip retraces the highway, which gives every stop a fresh perspective on the way back.
